Your part number, although listed as one of their jacks, was not part of the recall. These aluminum jack stands are 50 lighter than 3 Ton steel. I've bought a bunch of OK things from HF before that I love, but this was appalling. These jack stands are built to the highest standards with the most safety features on the market. I'm planning on purchasing something like the LCP bottle jack frame rail adapter for on-the-road jacking, and I've already got a beefy floor jack from harbor freight for the lifting at home. There was just a random huge chunk missing. On top of that, one of the adjustable inserts had a very poorly-machined triangular notch (half of it was completely filled in and unusable) and one of them had a poorly-machined top cup (that would rest on the truck's frame rail). This means the pressures exerted on the tips of the catch and the notch would have been enormous and unsafe. ![]() (View the PDF of the recall document here for more details. Just the tip of the catch rested on the edge of the notch instead of nestling into it. Harbor Freights recall covers some 3-ton and 6-ton 'Pittsburgh' brand jack stands with item numbers 56371, 61196, and 61197. I have no idea what the terminology is for these parts, but the lever-operated catch on the base part didn't fit all the way into the triangular notches on the adjustable insert part. I went inside and showed the folks and returned the stands 5 mins after I bought them. It has a max lifting height of 23-1/8 inches and a working capacity of 6,000 pounds, allowing you to easily lift most standard vehicles.
